Daniel Avanto
Composer
Daniel Avanto was born on March 1, 1997, in Thousand Oaks, California. In 2021 he earned his Bachelor's degree in Music Theory and Composition from California State University where he studied under Steven Blumberg, Chris Castro, and Jeffery Hoover. His works include a majority of orchestral works, as well as solo, small ensemble, piano, and choral works.
Most of his works are programmatic in nature and have a kind of non-verbal narrative journey that he sometimes does not hint to at all, to allow the listener to imagine their own story. Many of these works utilize harmonies and extended techniques which lead the pieces to have a fantastical, dark – and sometimes sinister – tone that implies an antagonistic presence in the narrative.
Compositional Style
Daniel has established a style that blends the harmonic language of romantic era composers, the avant-garde, and some jazz influences. Many of his works fit backgrounds for Fantasy, Action, Drama, and Horror media, and are often described as beautiful, riveting, and haunting.
